The ticket sales for “Lisa Frankenstein” have been disappointing. On opening day, the picture grossed $1.7 million from 3,144 theaters, with $700,000 coming from Thursday previews. In the second weekend of its release, Apple Studios’ “Argylle,” which also had a shaky beginning, is likely to eclipse Focus Features’ premiere.
“Lisa Frankenstein” has gotten off to a sluggish start, with projected weekend earnings of $4 million. The “B” grade on Cinema Score and the film’s mixed reviews indicate that the film has a difficult road ahead of it, despite its cheap $13 million production budget.
“Lisa Frankenstein” is a Diablo Cody-penned PG-13 romance comedy about a crazed adolescent who uses cadavers to construct her own loving partner. Zelda Williams directs the romantic horror film starring Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.

The highest-grossing picture of last year, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance,” only made $53 million in its entire run, with an opening weekend total of less than $10 million. It is anticipated that this year’s numbers would be significantly lower.
“Argylle” by Universal is expected to continue topping the charts even though it will likely see a 62% decline from its underwhelming opening weekend. It would be a shame, considering the genre, the stars, and the substantial $200 million budget, if the film couldn’t manage to earn $30 million domestically in its first 10 days due to negative press.
Warner Bros. is re-releasing “Dune” by Denis Villeneuve in premium large formats in anticipation of March 1st, when the sequel will be released. The science fiction blockbuster is still going strong after earning $402 million worldwide in its initial run in 2021.
As for other movies, “Wonka” starring Timothée Chalamet is predicted to finish in the top four in its ninth weekend at the box office, while “The Beekeeper” and “Migration” are aiming for approximately $3 million each, with the hopes of securing spots in the top five. “Madame Web” and “Bob Marley: One Love” are Valentine’s Day releases that exhibitors are hoping will enliven box office profits.
