The maverick detective from Luther, played by Idris Elba, has returned to our screens in the film Luther: The Fallen Sun, more than three years after fans bid him a heartfelt farewell as the fifth and final season came to a dramatic conclusion.
The Netflix movie is a prequel to the first, long-running series and will be the last chapter in the tale. It was written by Neil Cross and directed by Jamie Payne.
The Fallen Sun follows Luther as he escapes jail to find an Andy Serkis-played cyber-killer who is terrorizing the streets after being humiliated and imprisoned after season 5.

The Falling Sun, the subtitle of the Luther movie, has finally arrived on our screens after years of anticipation.
Luther: Falling Sun will premiere on Netflix later in 2023 after a limited release starting on Friday, February 24, in some theatres.
