Popular characters, including Professor Carrie Milgram (Melanie Liburd), her high school sweetheart Ezekiel “Zeke” Cross (Daniel Bellomy), and Daniel Sunjata’s Mecca/Danté Spears, passed away in season two. That doesn’t mean they won’t appear again in flashbacks or later episodes, though.

Professor Harper Bonet, “a progressive academic and bohemian beauty,” will be portrayed by Sharp (via Deadline). We might anticipate hearing additional cast announcements as production picks up.
According to a March Deadline article, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Kyle Vincent Terry, and Caroline Chikezie were three other actors that had been added to the cast list.

Tariq (Justin McManus), who initially wanted out of the drug business, has opted to stick around and take over as the new connect now that Mecca has disappeared after getting away with the murder of Professor Jabari Reynolds.
On the other hand, Tariq’s college girlfriend Lauren, whose body was discovered after a car accident, was set up by Brayden, who had previously saved him from a life in prison by admitting to being the student selling drugs on campus and revealing himself as the CEO of their drug-peddling app Course Correct.
“I just know that Tariq’s going to be making some money, and obviously, he’s going to be fighting a lot because he’s trying to figure out what’s going on with Lauren and how her situation went because he doesn’t know what happened,” Rainey teased in an interview with PopSugar.
The speaker said it will be difficult for [Brayden] to keep a secret from Tariq. Tariq is brilliant, and you can be sure he will come up with a solution. He’s going to investigate everything until he finds the answer. “There will, therefore undoubtedly be some ups and downs in [those] relationships, and that is one thing I am looking forward to witnessing: the rough road that they are about to begin. There will be madness.
Also appearing in the finale was NYPD detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen), who was revealed to be the officer tasked with protecting secret informant Mecca. With a blurry photo of Tariq in hand, Blanca’s return will undoubtedly cause Tariq many problems as she looks into Mecca’s shooting.
Cooper Saxe teaming up with Prosecutor Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) to reveal Davis MacLean’s shady legal tactics is another development that will intensify Season 3 of the show. Theo Rollins is currently imprisoned for a murder he did not commit, and MacLean is attempting to have him out.
Based on Rainey’s comments from the podcast The Crew Has It, the only thing we can be sure of is that it won’t let us down. As a result, we can, at the very least, anticipate the same degree of excitement as in prior seasons.
