Abraham Isaac Quintanilla III (born December 13, 1963), often known as A. B. Quintanilla III or A. B. Quintanilla, is an American record producer, songwriter, and musician. He is the older brother of Selena Quintanilla, dubbed “The Queen of Tejano Music.”
In 1980, he joined Los Dinos with his sister Selena, his other sister Suzette, and his father Abraham. A. B. played bass guitar, produced, and penned songs for Selena as a member of Los Dinos, including “Como la Flor,” “Amor Prohibido,” and “No Me Queda Más” [1]. He formed the bands Kumbia Kings and Kumbia All Starz after Selena’s death.

Giani Quintanilla Early Life
A. B. Quintanilla III was born in Toppenish, Washington, on December 13, 1963. He is the eldest of Abraham Quintanilla Jr.’s three children, including the late Selena Quintanilla and Suzette Quintanilla.

Giani Quintanilla’s Career
A. B. learned to play the guitar and bass while living in Lake Jackson, Texas. He became a member of the successful Los Dinos band with Selena, Suzette, and their father, Abraham. Selena’s producer was also A. B.
Selena’s hit songs “Como la Flor” (“Like the Flower”) and “Amor Prohibido” were co-written by him (“Forbidden Love”).
Selena, A. B.’s sister, was murdered on March 31, 1995, leaving him devastated. He assisted in the production of Pedro “Pete” Astudillo’s song “Como Te Extra” (“How I Miss You”), which was composed for Selena and Astudillo’s late grandmother. In 1996, Astudillo won the Premios Lo Nuestro award for Best Song of the Year for the song.

A. B. Quintanilla later made a comeback in 1999 with the Kumbia Kings, a cumbia and pop band. The Kumbia Kings went on a worldwide tour, released numerous CDs, and appeared on Cristina Saralegui’s El Show de Cristina, among other shows. Quintanilla also produced for Thala, Alicia Villarreal, Verónica Castro, and Cristian Castro, among others.
Due to a feud with Cruz Martnez, A. B. Quintanilla departed Kumbia Kings in mid-2006. In 2006, A. B. formed Kumbia All Starz with new members and ex-Kumbia Kings Chris Pérez (A. B.’s brother-in-law, Selena’s widower) and Pee Wee.
“Chiquilla,” “Parece Que Va a Llover,” and “Speedy Gonzales” were all hits for this new ensemble. The Kumbia All Starz have a huge following in South America, particularly in Bolivia, where they gave a series of concerts in 2014.
A. B. Quintanilla established Elektro Kumbia in 2016 after signing with DEL Records. He released a single called “Pina Colada Shot” in 2017.
