Abraham Isaac Quintanilla III (born December 13, 1963), often known as A. B. Quintanilla III or A. B. Quintanilla, is an American record producer, songwriter, and musician. He is the older brother of Selena Quintanilla, dubbed “The Queen of Tejano Music.”

In 1980, he joined Los Dinos with his sister Selena, his other sister Suzette, and his father Abraham. A. B. played bass guitar, produced, and penned songs for Selena as a member of Los Dinos, including “Como la Flor,” “Amor Prohibido,” and “No Me Queda Más” [1]. He formed the bands Kumbia Kings and Kumbia All Starz after Selena’s death.

A. B. learned to play the guitar and bass while living in Lake Jackson, Texas. He became a member of the successful Los Dinos band with Selena, Suzette, and their father, Abraham. Selena’s producer was also A. B.

Selena’s hit songs “Como la Flor” (“Like the Flower”) and “Amor Prohibido” were co-written by him (“Forbidden Love”).

Selena, A. B.’s sister, was murdered on March 31, 1995, leaving him devastated. The Kumbia Kings went on a worldwide tour, released numerous CDs, and appeared on Cristina Saralegui’s El Show de Cristina, among other shows.
