According to rumors, K-Ci, one-half of the R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo, began dating Mary in 1992, the same year her debut album was released.
In 1996, Mary and K-Ci got engaged after developing a close romantic relationship. The couple barely stayed together for a year, and K-Ci openly declared that he was not getting married.

The exact timeline of Case and Mary’s mid-’90s relationship is unknown. However, in a January 2020 interview with MadameNoire, Case spilled the beans on their romance.
“Yeah, I met Mary through Misa [Hylton] when we were working on the album,” he told the outlet. “She had come to the studio to hang out or whatever. We just started hanging out,” he said. “She was there when I was working on my album. There were three or four songs that she wrote, or that we wrote together.”

Interestingly, after Mary and Kendu split up, rumors surfaced that the music producer had cheated on Mary with a close friend.
The divorce settlement was equally messy, as you might expect. Although a judge ordered Mary to pay Kendu $30,000 per month as temporary spousal support in 2017, the couple was able to come to a confidential agreement.

In June 2021, when rapper Conway the Machine shared his appreciation for the Queen on Instagram Stories, rumors spread that Mary was dating Conway the Machine.
According to Bossip, Conway shared a photo of Mary J. Blige being inducted into the Apollo Walk of Fame along with the hashtag #mines and the emojis heart eyes, bee, and robot face.
Naturally, most people would assume that the “Piano Love” singer was in love. Mary didn’t confirm or deny the relationship, though.
