Vanessa Hudgens has been engaged to professional baseball player Cole Tucker for almost three months now, and the High School Musical star is already feeling the stress of wedding preparation.
The actress discussed the procedure with presenter Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show on May 8, 2023. Hudgens said organizing a wedding was difficult when Barrymore questioned her about it.
The Princess Switch star has found one area particularly difficult. She says, “I don’t know, finding a venue is really tough,” she reveals. “I kind of just want to elope. I really…I’m lost.”
Tucker, according to Hudgens, doesn’t have a strong choice for how they choose to get married. “I mean, he just wants to get married to me,” Hudgens shares. “He’s like, ‘Whatever you want, babe.’”
The host gushed earlier in the chat about how beautifully Tucker handles Hudgens. “You got engaged, and he’s so nice to you and he so gets you,” Barrymore says.
The actress shared Barrymore’s observation. “I know,” she replies. “He so gets me.” Barrymore continued to list all of Tucker’s admirable qualities.
“He’s so nice to you, and he just appreciates you,” she exclaims. “And he seems to see you for who you are and just appreciates and loves you. That does it for me.”
TMZ said that Tucker proposed on February 2, 2023. The baseball player reportedly got down on one knee after 2022. The two independently verified the news with a shared Instagram post about a week later. “YES. We couldn’t be happier ,” the caption read.
In addition to their announcement, the couple shared a picture of themselves cuddling in the midnight streets of Paris, with Hudgens holding up her left hand’s ring finger.
The bride-to-be’s engagement ring is displayed closely in the second image, featuring the Eiffel Tower as a background.

The sparkler is an oval-cut diamond set on a thin yellow gold band, which Mike Fried, CEO of The Diamond Pro, estimated to weigh seven carats and cost roughly $250,000, according to Hello.
In November 2020, while holding hands in Los Angeles, the professional athlete and the actress from Second Act first generated dating rumors.
Hudgens revealed the specifics of how she met Tucker on The Drew Barrymore Show when she made an appearance there six months later.
The actress claimed that Hudgens started the conversation on a Zoom meditation call. She recalled, “I get on the Zoom, and I’m like, ‘Who is that “I found him, and we started talking. If I want something or someone, I’m going after them. I fully slid into his DMs and said, ‘Hey, it was nice to meet you.’ So, I think there is no shame in making the first move.”
The honor of Valentine’s Day, Hudgens officially declared her relationship with Tucker on Instagram on February 14, 2021. “It’s you, it’s me, it’s us,” she wrote.

She also uploaded a picture of the pair kissing. The MLB pitcher spoke candidly about his connection with Hudgens two weeks later.
In a spring training interview, he said, “I got a girlfriend, and she’s cool,” “She’s awesome. I love her, but I don’t want it to be, ‘Oh, Cole’s dating Vanessa.’ I don’t want to be treated any differently than Mitch [Keller] having his wife down, or Ke’Bryan [Hayes] having his girlfriend come down. She’s great. She’ll be around. You will see her, but you saw the headline. It is what it is.”
Since then, the couple has tended to keep their relationship a secret, but Hudgens periodically shares information about their relationship on social media, whether showing support for Tucker’s sporting events or sharing romantic trip photos.
