According to the CEO of the internet giant, Google is ready to upgrade its search engine with glitzy artificial intelligence elements that will allow it to communicate with people in a more conversational, human-like manner.
According to CEO Sundar Pichai, Google’s decision to integrate AI into its widely used search tools shows the company’s dedication to fighting against OpenAI, supported by Microsoft and others.
“The opportunity space, if anything, is bigger than before,” Pichai told The Wall Street Journal.
Large language models (LLMs) are computer programs that can respond to questions that mimic people’s. Google has been a pioneer in this field.
The business will now try to improve user experience on its search engine using the technology.
“Will people be able to ask questions to Google and engage with LLMs in the context of search? Absolutely,” Pichai told The Journal.
The Silicon Valley research group OpenAI debuted ChatGPT, a chatbot currently used to power the improved version of the Bing search engine that Microsoft recently released.

Due to economic challenges, Google and other tech behemoths are going through a transition that involves reducing costs and staff.
Also, it has disclosed reductions in staff incentives, including the closing of its “micro-kitchens,” which offered complimentary drinks and snacks.
Google will also reduce the amount it spends on equipment like laptops provided by the corporation.
