Time flies. Suri Cruise and Katie Holmes were spotted passing through LAX on the evening of Monday, April 24, and recent images show that the adolescent is now just as tall as her well-known mother.
The actress wore a gray-brown V-neck sweater, black sweatpants, an orange baseball cap, and black Adidas sneakers when they arrived at the Los Angeles airport in casual attire.
The 44-year-old mother-of-one carried a tote bag in addition to wearing her trademark brunette hair down.
Suri, 17, wore a gray zip-up sweatshirt, white trousers, and black sneakers while pulling back her own long hair into braided pigtails. The teen also rolled her own baby pink suitcase while toting a cream purse.
A few weeks before the group outing, the Dawson’s Creek alum opened up in an interview about her attempts to shield her and her ex-husband Tom Cruise’s child from the media.
“What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” Holmes expressed, referencing how the tot became tabloid fodder. “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person,” she continued to Glamour.

Holmes is okay with Suri wanting to work in the entertainment industry; the high school student has already recorded two songs for two of the Ray Donovan actor’s latest films.
“I hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her,” she shared. “But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people. And it’s this safe, beautiful, creative space. So it comes out of love for me to include someone who I love dearly.”
As previously reported by OK!, Tom, 60, has remained distant from his young daughter throughout the years.
“Suri does not know her father anymore and she has not spent time with him in a decade,” an insider told a news outlet. “She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life.”
