Many people were surprised to learn that singer and actress Halle Bailey was pregnant when she revealed earlier this month that she had given birth to a child.
With the stork now out of the bag, Bailey has been more transparent about her pregnancy, releasing pictures and videos from her formerly private time.
While most comments were along the lines of “awww,” some expressed disapproval of Bailey’s privacy. For example, on X, a platform that was once Twitter, a user accused the 23-year-old of lying about her pregnancy, to which the Little Mermaid star replied.
“I never lied or even said anything about it, honey. Making a joke about my nose was the farthest I went,” she wrote.
Bailey answered a Snapchat follower who claimed that a recent snapshot of her had “pregnancy nose” in November of last year. “Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be hell to pay,” Bailey said in a video she shared.
Bailey went on to say of X, “I don’t know why you are upset with me for defending my own tranquility; wouldn’t you do the same? Now that my son is here safely, I’m going to post my pictures if I so wish. You can ignore it by simply scrolling down, sweetie. God be with you!”
With the exception of an appearance at the L.A. premiere, the “Angel” singer’s absence from The Color Purple publicity tour could be explained by the fact that she gave birth to her first child, son Halo, near the end of 2023, alongside lover DDG.

Bailey portrayed Nettie, the younger sister of Fantasia Barrino’s Celie, the lead character in the movie. Bailey also said, “If you don’t care why are you responding then, sweetheart? “
in response to another user on the social media platform who advised her to stop posting pictures of her pregnancy. Just live your life to the fullest and don’t worry about what I say. Bailey chose to “stay off” X after the conversation, citing her “hormones have been on 10 recently.”
