Lana Del Rey Announces Country Album

The Title of the New Album Lana Del Rey’s Lasso is ‘We’re Going Country. It’s Happening’

Stetsons prepared ‒ Lana Del Rey has announced that she is actively working on her next album, which will have a more “country” sound. She also announced the name of her upcoming September album, Lasso, while speaking at a pre-Grammys gathering.

At the Billboard pre-ceremony party, she informed the audience, “The music business is going country,” as if it weren’t clear from the award winners and performers.

She went on to say that Lasso has the return of in-demand producer Jack Antonoff, who she has worked with frequently since 2019’s critically praised Norman F**king Rockwell. The duo has spent the last four years in the American South recording songs for their forthcoming CD.

“Country is our destination. She stated that it is occurring. Jack has accompanied me to Muscle Shoals (in Alabama), Nashville (in Mississippi), and other places for the past four years because of that.”

She went on to sing Antonoff’s praises; he performs under the band Bleachers and has worked with artists like Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Del Rey. Del Rey said that they became fast friends after meeting at a pre-Grammys party in 2018, a few days after she ended a relationship.

The two went to the studio together and immediately hit it off, writing five songs in one day. Del Rey referred to him as “one in a million” and went on to say that his feelings are distinct. And it seems to have won awards as well.

Antonoff is already a Grammy winner with eight nominations and six more wins (including Producer of the Year) to his name at the 2024 ceremony. As well as Norman F**king Rockwell, he is a co-producer on Del Rey’s albums Chemtrails over the Country Club (2021) and 2023’s Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.

We are not surprised to hear that Lana is dabbling in country-western music. Some further indications have emerged, in addition to the growing number of cowboy hats appearing on her social media profiles.

With the message “Henry, come on,” the celebrity posted a sample of what seems to be a new song to Instagram last month. Complaining to Henry, “Would you kindly ask Lana to release the full song?” was a humorous statement.

Luke Laird was also tagged in the caption by her. His most notable collaborations as a country producer have been with Carrie Underwood and Kacey Musgraves. Also posted by Del Rey at the end of last year was a cover of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver.

Thought we’d hit all the back roads in the past seven months; it’s been quite a ride, she wrote. “Yet, our journey is far from over.” At Nashville’s legendary honky-tonk Robert’s Western World, she sang a cover of Tammy Wynette’s Stand By Your Man.
