Actress and activist Alyssa Milano said on Thursday that she had to ask strangers for money to support her son’s travel baseball team. The former “Who’s the Boss?” contestant was the target of criticism last week after promoting an impending team trip on a GoFundMe page. Critics said that the actress and her husband, talent agent David Bugliari, could afford the entire trip.
In Thursday’s Instagram post, Milano addressed the backlash. Many parents use GoFundMe to collect money for their children’s sports teams, but every parent does it. This is me, too,” she said as a caption.
Despite my best intentions, I just do not have the funds to cover the cost of the entire team’s and their families’ transportation, lodging, meals, drinks, uniforms, trade pins, and any other expenses associated with a trip of this nature. Eventually, perhaps.
The post itself was an image of a comment taken from her son’s Instagram account, where a user criticized Milano’s fundraising campaign, describing it as “incredibly absurd and self-centered of her.” Her son is twelve years old. Consult your mother.

The importance of instilling values like perseverance and accountability in one’s children cannot be overstated, according to another user. Furthermore, if she were to foot the bill for everything, critics would accuse her of smothering her kid and preventing him from developing his independence.
The mother-son fundraising duo often host “car washes, movie nights, and many other fun things!” according to Milano, who revealed this last week on X.
